Race to $1M on Feb 23, 2025 was a huge success bringing in over $60,000 in cash and making an impact to Ottawa Hospital of over $300,000!

But we're not stopping there. We're proud to help other community-minded groups raise money for deserving causes. Our next event (May 25th 2025) benefits the Hellenic Centre of Ottawa and the following weekend on Jun 1 2025, we'll be playing poker to raise money for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation

Established in 2010 to celebrate the memory of our cherished "Sunshine", we take great pride in the community support that has allowed us to host Ottawa's largest charity poker tournament. We cover all the costs in order to be 100% efficient. Our family group of volunteers has helped various causes and over $300,000 has been awarded to players! We've made contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society, helped build a school in Haiti, provided books and supplies to children and helped to start farms in Africa; Truly a global impact. Special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital for honouring our foundation with the dedication of the Najah Ayoub Patient Consultation Room and announcing the dedication of a patient room in the soon-to-be-built Civic campus.

Pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and beyond a perceived limitation can be a thrill, now combine that feeling with the sense of accomplishment that you'd get when you support a cause that supports people in desperate need. Fight for the Cure is exactly that. John has dedicated the last 20 years to helping people heal from injury, understand their body, learn how to move better, prevent injury or better manage pain. As a lifelong learner and health advocate he will be taking the next 6 months to learn how to box while raising money for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation. On October 18th John is scheduled to complete a sanctioned, amatuer boxing match at the Westin hotel in front of 1200 of his 'closest friends' Though you cannot help him win the boxing match you CAN help him meet his fundraising goal, please consider joining a large group of poker players on June 1st at 1PM -- Manotick Legion
